During 2020 and part of 2021, the most sold categories were technology, entertainment, and sports; the latter two had a 61% growth at a regional level. Below, we talk about the items that Mercado Libre sells the most in Latin American countries.

Mexico: It was one of the countries that grew the most in e-commerce. Mexico is a large consumer of personal hygiene items and it has focused, in the last few months, on buying items made of renewable materials, such as bamboo toothbrushes. Buying technology through online stores is also a constant for Mexicans, especially cell phones and headphones.

Argentina: In Argentina, home training products were the favorites. Amongst the most purchased items were gym mats, resistance bands as well as sportswear. In the technology category, the most purchased item was cell phones. 

Brazil: This region was characterized by home technology and gadgets purchases, such as printers, smart TVs, vacuum cleaners. Gamer gadgets were also in the top requested products, in addition to disinfectants and sanitizers.

Colombia: Similarly to Mexico, we can find cell phones as the number one requested item in the Colombian market, especially Asian brands, followed by headphones and tripod lightning. Another similarity with the Mexican market is that Colombians are interested in personal hygiene items, being one of the top online sold categories.
